RESURGENCE
ART & SPORT: THE STRENGTH TO RISE AGAIN
March 9 - June 9
Opening in Progress
Why Resurgence?
Because the world is suffering.
Because pain has settled into bodies and minds; because withdrawal into oneself has become a reflex of survival; because the future inspires fear.
In such a context, celebrating resilience is not a naïve act. It is a necessary one.
Resurgence exists to remind us that falling is not an end. That others before us have passed through collapse and have drawn from it a language, a strength, a presence in the world that belongs entirely to them. That this capacity — strange, precious, deeply human — also belongs to us.
The Musarthis Museum believes in poetic resilience. Not as a concept, but as a lived reality.
This is why this exhibition exists.

Some bodies know how to fall and rise again as naturally as others breathe.
Bodies that have passed through ordeal — injury, loss, rupture, enforced silence — and that find within this passage the very material of their rebirth.
Resurgence invites us to follow these trajectories where falling is not an end but an unexpected beginning. Where the constrained body discovers its own sovereignty. Where the gesture — athletic, artistic, creative — becomes the most intimate and powerful act of all: to reinvent oneself.
Art and sport speak here the same ancient language — the language of the body that refuses erasure, that transforms pain into movement, the scar into a work, the limit into a horizon. Two distinct languages, yet one shared grammar of resilience — the one that is born in the body, passes through ordeal, and invents what lies beyond.
These journeys do not tell the story of victory.
They tell something rarer and more precious — the singular beauty of those who rise again according to their own poetry.
The movement continues. Always.

Resilience inhabits existence like an underground movement. Discreet, radical, it reveals itself in those moments when something within us has broken and something else slowly begins.
Resurgence begins from this conviction: trial and creation share the same substance.
Within the philosophy of the Musarthis Museum, this exhibition chooses not to present works or artefacts. It presents paths. Deeply embodied human journeys, chosen for what they inspire and for what they awaken within us. Resilience is not something to contemplate behind glass — it is something to recognize, something to pass through.
The paths gathered here cross seven domains and several cultures. Sport, art, literature, science, music, cinema, performing arts — so many languages expressing the same truth: the human being possesses a strange and precious capacity — when confronted with trial, one draws from it a language, a strength, a presence in the world that belongs entirely to oneself.
This is the capacity the Musarthis Museum calls poetic resilience.
Guided by the principle of Agnitia — recognition grounded in lived experience and shared awareness, welcoming every trajectory for what it genuinely brings to humanity beyond hierarchies and affiliations — this exhibition proposes a reading of the world in which rising again becomes a form of poetry.
