MUSARTHIS MUSEUM RESEARCH

Musarthis Museum Research constitutes the research hub of the Musarthis Museum.

This space is dedicated to the study of contemporary artistic dynamics and the conditions through which works and artistic practices become part of cultural heritage.

The research conducted within Musarthis Museum Research examines the mechanisms of artistic recognition, the processes of institutional selection, and the narratives that shape the history of art. It also explores the biases that may run through cultural structures, whether geographical, institutional, or related to networks of legitimation.

The work developed in this context takes the form of curatorial studies, essays, publications, and documentary research. It contributes to documenting contemporary artistic practices and to deepening reflection on the conditions through which certain works gain visibility, transmission, and historical inscription.

The research is conducted by sociologists, philosophers, historians, scholars, jurists, and scientists from various disciplines, in Switzerland and around the world.

Musarthis Museum Research thus engages in an approach aimed at reflecting on how cultural institutions can contribute, with rigor and awareness, to the writing of the world's artistic heritage.
